Player & Parent Information

The purpose of this publication is to inform all members, prospective members, and parents of the
services and regulations of this volleyball club.  All prospective members and their parents are
required to read this document before becoming a member.  They should become familiar with
the program offered and the responsibilities of the athletes and their parents involved in our club.
This document is limited to the LINESHOT VOLLEYBALL CLUB and is a supplement to the
USA Volleyball and the Regional volleyball program rules and regulations.

This volleyball program exists for the benefit of those who wish to achieve excellence in the sport
of volleyball and promote interest in the sport at the local level.  We believe that our program
teaches individuals to excel, promotes competitiveness, family unity, and develops leadership skills
that transcend athletics into every aspect of a member's life.

LINESHOT VOLLEYBALL CLUB consists of a director who has sole responsibility for the
day-to-day decisions.  The director hires coaches to coach the teams.  Volunteer committees will
be put together as needed.  Membership in the LINESHOT VOLLEYBALL CLUB carries with
it certain responsibilities to the organization, particularly in the area of conduct.  Players, coaches
and parents should have a general knowledge of USA Volleyball, Ohio High School Program and
region rules and regulations.  During or between matches, no player, parent, or coach shall make
any disparaging remarks about or gestures toward another player, team, coach, or official.  At all
times, members and coaches are expected to act appropriately and dress tastefully (no short, tight
or revealing garments, etc.) keeping in mind that they are representatives of the LINESHOT
VOLLEYBALL CLUB, your school and our city.  When participating in a tournament, players
and coaches should not leave personal property or team belongings unattended.  Players are
responsible for leaving all facilities neat and clean.  Players are required to attend practice and
tournaments.  If a player cannot attend practice or tournament, she must notify the coach.

Playing time is not guaranteed for any player.

Playing time is based on skills needed for the team to succeed.

All players must notify their coach in advance with the reason when they are going to miss a
practice or tournament via e-mail at contact@lineshotvolleyballclub.net  A player who misses a
practice/tournament for an educational or athletic school function may not be penalized as long as
the coach was notified in advance.  A player who misses a practice/tournament for other reasons
(dances, work, family functions, etc.) may be penalized especially if the coach was not notified in
advance.

During the season the Director will need to communicate with members and their parents.
Frequently, pre-tournament information is delayed and vague.  E-Mail
(info@lineshotvolleyballclub.net) and the Internet (Lineshot Volleyball Club website address:
www.lineshotvolleyballclub.net) are the preferred method of communication.  If the member does
hot have e-mail or access to the internet then the following process will be used:
    1.   The director will contact the team coach and give details.
    2.   The coach will contact the players/members and relay the information.
    3.   The coach will contact the director after everyone has been contacted.

LINESHOT VOLLEYBALL CLUB will issue official team uniforms at the beginning of the
season.  The cost of the uniform is included in the membership fee.  The uniform must be worn
whenever representing LINESHOT VOLLEYBALL CLUB at a sanctioned tournament.  The
uniform may not be worn for any other purpose than wile attending or traveling to or from
expressed LINESHOT VOLLEYBALL CLUB functions.  Proper care and appearance of the
uniform is the responsibility of the individual player.  Each piece of the uniform should be marked
with the player's name on the inside tag.

The LINESHOT VOLLEYBALL CLUB structures its program to be in full compliance with
state rules and regulations as understood.  However, the club strongly urges all players and their
parents to educate themselves on all state and institutional rules to ensure that no infractions occur.

Unless otherwise stated, it is the responsibility of the parents to provide transportation, lodging,
and meals at all events.  It is the responsibility of the parent to insure that all monies for
membership fees are received on or before the deadline.  All monies should be as a check or
money order made payable to Lineshot Volleyball Club.

If there is an issue/situation during the season the player is to talk to the coach first.  If the
issue/situation is not resolved to the player's and/or coach's satisfaction then the player and/or
coach should contact the club director.  The club director will listen to the player and/or coach
and then talk to the coach and/or player and then help facilitate an amicable resolution.

If the parent has an issue/situation they should contact the club director first.  The club director
will listen to the issue/situation and involve the coach and/or player as necessary to resolve the
situation.

Club Director's decision is final and not subject to appeal.

We want to encourage the girls to speak up for themselves directly to the coach and/or club
director.  We realize that parents need to be involved but we really want the girls to be involved
first.  We have found that some issues are only issues for the parents and not for the girls.  The
girls are usually comfortable talking to the coach themselves.  We have found that parents
sometimes don't have all the information regarding an issue so dealing with the club director allows
the club director to gather all the information and discuss the issue/situation with the parent and
then with the girl and/or coach as necessary.
